To our dear friend Victoria:
You were an angel that helped Mariana in a time of need by taking her to your house when she was battling cancer herself 20 years ago. It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate her wonderful life, and her strong and kind memory will remain in both of our hearts forever. We are very sorry that we cannot attend services for her. May she rest in ever-loving peace.
-The Rosner Family (Mariana, Robert and Adam)

Vicki was a student at Nurnberg American High School Class of '70. All of us from NHS appeared to go our separate ways until the "all school" reunion in Las Vegas. Wondering what that person would look like when they met you at the airport. Vicki NEVER changed. I knew when I got to Las Vegas airport exactly who that person was. Though we've changed over the years our memories of that person never left.
Vicki met my daughter and husband and we got to meet her family. She never did make it out to visit us in Washington though she said she'd love to visit.
Vicki had a life that she loved. She taught elementary school and though she didn't have children she felt all the children in her classes as her own. She was even teacher of the year...and very proud of it! I know Vicki didn't want to leave her students ... she loved them so.
God Bless Vicki. You will be greatly missed!
God Bless your family too.

Vicki, or Blithe Spirit as I knew her from our eons days, was a remarkable woman. I enjoyed swapping teacher stories with her over the years. She had a wonderful, witty sense of humor. I feel so fortunate that I was able to spend time with her in 3-D (as we used to say) on several occasions. From one of her imaginary friends, Kathy Zwibelman (AKA SouthFlorida).

I knew Vicki for two years at Nurnberg American HS in Germany. After we graduated, in typical "Brat" fashion- because of the lives our parents had, we never saw each other again.
Then along came the internet, and a whole school reunited via email and an alumni association. Magically, 32 years after we graduated, we were reunited at a school (all year) reunion in Las Vegas.
And it was like we all just started again where we left off in 1970.....
So great to reconnect then, and more recently on Facebook.
May your family take comfort knowing that she is no longer in pain, reunited with the loved ones who passed before her.
She soars with the (Nurnberg) Eagles.
Warmly-
Celie Sternson Herbst
