Obituary of Doyle Rowell

LAKE ALFRED - Mr. Doyle F. Rowell, age 84, a resident of Lake Alfred passed away Thurs. February 28, 2013 at Good Shepherd Hospice Residential Center in Auburndale due to CVA. Mr. Rowell was born February 26, 1929 in Miami County, Ohio to Chester Franklin and Ethel (Snider) Rowell. He was a resident of Polk Co. since 1979 coming from Ohio and a member of the First Baptist Church in Auburndale. Doyle was a United States Army veteran; he enjoyed fishing, yard work, traveling and loved to go with the church visitation team to visit nursing homes. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers & 1 sister. Doyle is survived by his loving family: wife of 30 years: Carolyn Rowell of Lake Alfred, FL, 2 sons: Kurt (Kathy) Rowell of Xenia, OH, Jason (Sharon) Elmore of Auburndale, FL, 2 daughters: Lauri (Frank) Sontowski of Sebring, FL, Jannelle (Chris) Nelson of Versailles, OH, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Rowell's name may be made to either: Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823 or St. Labre Indian School, 1000 Tongue River Rd., Ashland, MT. 59003. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Kersey Funeral Home.
