Obituary of Jean Daniels

Lake Alfred - Mrs. Jean Daniels age 78 a resident of Lake Alfred passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at her home with family by her side due to heart failure. Mrs. Daniels was born April 24, 1935 in enigma, Georgia to John C. and Wealthy Laura (Luke) Knowles. She was a Polk county resident for the past 76 years coming from GA. She was a past member of the Echo Baptist Church which now is the First Baptist church of Lake Alfred. She graduated from Winter Haven High School and she attended Polk Community College. Jean retired after 30 years from Adams Packing, also retired after 16 years from the regency Medical Center in Winter Haven and then retired after 6 years from State Farm Insurance Company. Jean enjoyed reading mysteries, the beach, cruising and loved to spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Perry & Doyle; and sister Myrtle. Jean is survived by her loving and devoted family: 2 daughters: Kathy (Tommy) Shockley of Lake Alfred, FL, Alesia (J.T.) Cheshire of Lake Placid, FL; brother Jimmy Knowles of FL; 2 sisters: Elver Mincey of Lake Alfred, FL, Betty Higgins of Clermont, FL; grandson: Tommy Ray (Dede) Shockley of Auburndale, FL; 2 granddaughters: Lashae (Rick) Huff of North Port, FL, Nichole (Dustin) O'Steen of Jacksonville, N.C.; 4 great grandchildren: Michael, Brittany, Blayton & Cooper. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 10 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake Alfred.
