Obituary of Charles Aris Barton

Mr. C. Aris Barton, age 86 of Winter Haven , beloved husband, father and friend passed away from respiratory failure on May 28, 2013. Mr. Barton was born in Auburndale to the late Charlie B. & Peggy Barton. He attended Auburndale High School and left there for training at the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, Illinois. Before he entered his lifelong occupation of citrus buyer, dealer and grower in T. A. Weeks & Associates Inc., he was a Frigidaire dealer and licensed electrician. In 1983 he founded Barton Commercial Park in Auburndale which operates to this day. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Griffin Barton, his parents, a daughter, Candy Barton and brother, Buren Barton. He is survived by his wife Dolores, a son Bart (Susan) Barton of Wauchula, a stepson Pete Clay of Palm Beach Gardens and a daughter Joy Barton of Chicago. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Captain C. Aris (Teri) Barton III of Warner Robbins, Ga, Adam Barton of Lakeland, Elizabeth (Daniel) Beckham of Auburndale, John- Paul Barton of Lake Placid, Joseph Barton of Wauchula and Philip Barton of Norfolk, Va., 4 great grandchildren, Isaac Barton, Bryce, Jax & Quinn Beckham. He is also survived by his special "sister", Mary Lou (John) Auxier and many loving in-laws. Funeral services will take place Saturday at 10 AM at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale with visitation Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
