Obituary of Frank Burgener

AUBURNDALE - Mr. Frank Burgener Sr., age 97 of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Auburndale due to natural causes. Mr. Burgener was born in Palmerton, PA. and had lived in this area for over 30 years coming back to the U. S. after working in Trinidad. He earned his BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Penn State and went to work for Alcoa where he retired in 1982 as a General Manager. Mr. Burgener was in the Army Reserves during the WW II Era and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Auburndale. He was an avid golfer, Enjoyed "tinkering with gadgets" and loved grooming his yard. He is survived by his loving family, wife of 70 years, Dorothea Kern Burgener, his son, Frank Burgener Jr. of St. Joseph, MI and 3 grandchildren, Christine, Lori and Mark. No services are scheduled at this time for Mr. Burgener. Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale is serving the family.
