Obituary of William Austin Sapp

Mr. William "Bill" Austin Sapp, age 88 passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 after a long illness at Brandon Regional Hospital. Mr. Sapp was born May 14, 1925 in Vernon, Florida to John Wesley and Sally (Monday) Sapp. Bill left home as a teenager, joining the Navy during World War II, serving in the North Atlantic & Mediterranean Sea. After being discharged from the Navy he joined the Army serving his time in Goose Bay, Labrador. He then settled in the Winter Haven & Auburndale area. Bill and his wife moved to Valrico from Winter Haven 7 years ago to be closer to children. He worked for Childs Daniels Ford Company and later Daniels Ford Dealership for 20 plus years. Later, he taught diesel mechanics at Ridge Vocational Technical School. He stated many times that he wished he had known how much he enjoyed teaching he would have made it his career choice. Bill enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Hiram (Bill), Moody, Jim & sisters Louise, and Deanie. Bill is survived by his loving family; Wife of 53 Years: Frances Sapp of Valrico, FL. Sisters Nadine Manley of Eagle Lake, FL. Willodine Manley of Eagle Lake, FL. 3 Sons: J. Lee (Carole) Sapp of Port Charlotte, FL. Kenneth Sapp Crosby of Fort Walden Beach, FL. Stephen Sapp (Bobby) Crosby of Highland City, FL. 2 Daughters: Marsha Sapp (Steve) Middleton of Bainbridge, GA. Cheri Sapp (Roy) Jaeger of Valrico, FL. 6 Grandchildren: David, Jennifer, Misti, Amanda, Michael & Brian 15 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held before service from 10:00 til 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
