Obituary of Allan George Schreiner

AUBURNDALE - Mr. Allan G. Schreiner, age 83, a resident of Auburndale passed away August 9, 2013 at Winter Haven Hospital due to heart failure. Mr. Schreiner was born March 29, 1930 in Batavia, NY to John E. and Helen (Dziemion) Schreiner. He was a Polk County resident since 1993 coming from Niagara Falls, NY. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Allan retired from the University of Buffalo in the maintenance department and also retired after 25 years as a Barber. He was a member of the Winter Haven Moose Lodge 1023 & the Winter Haven American Legion Post 8. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening & woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents and son John Schreiner. Allan is survived by his Wife of 57 years: Flo Schreiner of Auburndale, FL, son: Thomas Schreiner of Auburndale, FL, daughter: Lynn Gertz of Niagara Falls, NY, brother: Raymond (Maureen) Schreiner of Alexandria, VA, 2 sisters: Lenore (Jack) Daly of The Villages, FL and Laurel Schreiner of Buffalo, NY, 4 grandchildren: Brian Gertz and Michael Gertz, both of Niagara Falls, NY, Tonya (Matthew) Jeckovich and Stacy Henry, both of Lake Alfred, FL, and 1 great grandson: Payton Jeckovich. A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Kersey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held before from 5-6 PM.
