Obituary of Jeannette Merritt Bailey

AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Jeanette Merritt Bailey, age 89, of Auburndale passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Mt. Dora due to heart failure. Mrs. Bailey was born in Hartsfield, Ga. to Joseph & Evelyn Henry Merritt and had lived in this area since the age of 2. Mrs. Merritt earned her teaching degree from Florida Southern College in 1970 and was a School Teacher with the Auburndale School System where she taught second grade at Caldwell Elementary for 19 years until her retirement. Mrs. Bailey was a AHS graduate from the Class of 42. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Bailey and son, Mike Bailey. She is survived by 2 sons, Thomas W. (Jodie) Bailey of Ft. Meade and Donald (Vicky) Bailey of Leesburg, her daughter in law, Charlotte Bailey of Auburndale, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2 PM at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale
