Obituary of Moi Monroe Fussell

Mr. Moi Monroe Fussell, age 80 a lifetime Polk City resident passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at his home with family at his side due to liver cancer. Mr. Fussell was born July 28, 1933 in Polk City to Peter Monroe and Artice Edith (Combee) Fussell. He was a rancher, a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Polk City and a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Moi retired from the Polk County Sherriff's Department after 18 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters - Mabel, Joann & Clara. Moi is survived by his loving family; Wife of 61 Years: Ima Jean Fussell of Polk City; son - Ronald Moi (Dawn) Fussell of Cocoa, Fl.; 2 daughters - Sylvia Jean (Ed) Duffy of Polk City and Sheri Denise (Tim) Dice of Tallahassee, Fl; brother - Pete (Reba) Fussell of Polk City; 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Mt. Olive Baptist Church Benevolent Fund or Good Shepherd Hospice. Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 5415 Mt. Olive Road, Polk City. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 6:00 til 8:00 P.M. at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale.
