Obituary of Ruth Lawson Whitman

Mrs.Ruth V. Lawson Whitman,age 90, a resident of Auburndale passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at her home due to natural causes. Mrs. Whitman was born July 4, 1923 in Nauvoo, Alabama to James and Rebecca Isadoe (Ingle) Collier. She was a resident of Auburndale for many years, retired from Bordo after 30 years as a supervisor and was a member of Central Assembly of God in Auburndale. She also taught Sunday school & a past church secretary. Ruth enjoyed quilting & sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband - Pastor Thomas Lawson; son - Jimmy Lee Lawson; Sisters - Rachel & Helen and brothers - Morris & Paul. Ruth is survived by; 2 Daughters - Theresa Horne and Brenda (Walter) Messer both of Auburndale, Brother - Erskine Collier and Sister - Vaughn Nelson both of Alabama, 2 grandchildren - Cynthia (Charles) Kingsbury of Ocala and Gregory Brinson of Auburndale and 3 great grandchildren - Christopher, Austin & Amber.
