Obituary of Joyce L. Chumney

Mrs. Joyce L. Chumney, age 78, of Lakeland passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 due to heart failure. Mrs. Chumney was born in Taylor County and had lived in this area for the past 65 years. She, along with her late husband were the owners of Chumney' Midway Truck Stop in Auburndale. Mrs. Chumney was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching her son & grandsons racing stock cars and shopping. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hubert Chumney. Survivors include 2 sons, Terry (Cheryl) Chumney and Larry (Kathy) Chumney, both of Auburndale, 2 brothers, James M. Driggers of Auburndale and Malcom Driggers of Bartow, a sister, Shirley West of Auburndale, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
