Obituary of Theodore Ted Kalman

LAKELAND - Mr. "Ted" C. Kalman, age 93, a resident of Lakeland and former resident of OH, passed away peacefully on Thurs., May 1, 2014 at his home due to a short illness. Mr. Kalman was born Jan. 9, 1921 in Girard, OH. He was employed for 36 yrs. by Strouss/May Company Department Stores, in Warren, OH, and transferred to operations management in Youngstown. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, he served 43 months during WWII. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 11651 in Lakeland. Ted enjoyed traveling, golf, playing the accordion & especially spending time with his grandchildren & gt. grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Jeanette; brother Leonard & sister Bernadine. Ted is survived by: former wife: Imogene of Lakeland; 2 sons: Theo (Susan) of CO, Mark (Ana) Kalman of Auburndale; 2 daughters: Christine (Louis) Delpha, Lisa (Rick) Dustal, both of Lakeland; brother & sisters: Arthur (Rosemarie), Marie Szepietowski & Dolores (Al) Crockett of OH; 10 grandchildren; 2 gt. grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland Hills Blvd. Memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland Hills Blvd.
