Obituary of La Jean Phillips Pontius

Mrs. La Jean Phillips Pontius, 74, passed away Sat. May 17, 2014 at her home due to heart failure. Mrs.Pontius was born April 14, 1940 in Fort Benning, GA to Clayton & Annie Ruth (Burnett) Rowe, Sr. La Jean was a retired vice president in the construction industry and a resident of Winter Haven since 1986. She was a past member of the Red Hat Ladies, enjoyed sewing, flower gardening & cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, David E. Phillips; brothers & 1 sister. La Jean is survived by her loving family; husband of 8 years, Wayne Pontius of Winter Haven; son, Tony (Melissa) Phillips of Orlando, daughter; Michelle Phillips of Winter Haven; 4 stepchildren; Timothy, Janet, Michelle & Vicki; 10 grandchildren; Delaney, Grayson, Jessica, Grace, Anna, Kaitlyn, Derrick, Bradley, Marissa & Nathaniel.
