Obituary of Shirley Ann Lisle Peery

Mrs. Shirley Ann Lisle Peery, age 74, entered into rest on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Lakeland due to complications from a stroke. Mrs. Peery was born in Eustis, Fl. To Annie L and Edward C. Lisle Sr. Shirley grew up in Winter Haven and graduated from high school there in 1958. She worked for Publix for 22 years as a Deli Manager and also worked as Dr. Lambert's receptionist at Bond Clinic. Her last job was as a front service associate at Walmart. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Cecil Faye Morris and Bobbie Jewel Lisle and granddaughter Taylor Towles. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Mel Peery, a sister, Jackie (Buddy) Simmons of Lakeland, brother, Edward C. (Josie) Lisle Jr. of Umatilla, Fl., 2 daughters, Teresa Barnes of Mulberry, Tamara (Gene) Durbin of Winter Haven, 2 sons, Roger (Carol) Towles and Dennis Towles, both of Winter Haven. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved dearly, visiting the Hard Rock in Tampa and trying her luck with the Florida Lottery. She also enjoyed visiting with the patients that she met while working at Bond Clinic. Shirley's favorite color was pink and we invite everyone to wear pink, if possible, for her service.
