Obituary of Ferral Zedacar Mallory

Mr. Ferral Zedacar Mallory, age 74 a resident of Lakeland passed away Thurs. June 26, 2014 at Lakeland Regional due to heart failure. Mr. Mallory was born May 22, 1940 in Vernon, FL. to Poney and Allie (Gipson) Mallory. He was a Polk Co. resident for over 39 years coming from Charleston, SC. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the county, member of Carter's Baptist Church, past member of the Mason's & Shriner's and a firefighter for the Charleston Fire Dept. where is received a metal for bravery for saving a boy from the river. Ferral enjoyed yard work, gardening & crosswords. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters & nephew. Ferral is survived by his loving family; Wife of 28 Years: Carolyn Mallory of Lakeland 2 Sons: Stephan (Monique) Mallory of Lakeland Christopher Mallory of Ft. Myers 4 Stepsons: Raymond (Colleen) Dykes of Highland City Ronnie (Tina) Dykes of Key Largo Mitchell (Dionne) Dykes of Polk City Gary Dykes of Lakeland 11 Grandchildren: Emma, Travis, Brandon, Stephanie, Ashley, Will, Camden, Rebecca, Kyle, Andrea & Eleanor Many Gt. Grandchildren & Gt. Gt. Grandchildren In lieu of flowers the family request donation's in Mr. Mallory's name to the American Cancer Society, 1920 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland, FL. 33803 Funeral services will be 11 AM Tues. July 1, 2014 at the Kersey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held before from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.
