Obituary of Ralph Alonzo Whitley

Mr. Ralph A. Whitley Sr., age 83 of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in Auburndale due to CHF. Mr. Whitley was born in Douglas, Ga. to Johnny & Beulah Bray Whitley and had lived in this area for the past 21 years. Mr. Whitley was a retired Signalman for the CSX Railroad and a member of the Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven. He enjoyed fishing and walking around town. Mr. Whitley was preceded in death by his first wife, Ernestine Whitley and a daughter, Frieda K. Fulcher. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Whitley of Auburndale, son, Ralph A. Whitley Jr., 2 daughters, Darlene Whitley and Tina McWaters, Stepdaughters, LaJoy Ann Collins, Jane C. Elroy, Roxanne Maxson and Sue Ellen Hall, a stepson, Harry M. George, 5 grandchildren, 16 stepgrandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. Services will take place in Dothan, Alabama. Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale serving the family.
