Obituary of Wade Ellis Salter

AUBURNDALE - Wade Ellis Salter passed away at Auburndale Oaks Nursing Home in Auburndale, FL, on Thursday, November 20, 2014, of heart failure. He was 84 years old. Born November 25, 1929, in Glennville, Georgia, he relocated to Auburndale in 1953. He worked for Polk County as a truck driver for 19 years until he retired in 1989. He was also a longtime volunteer firefighter for the city of Auburndale. Survivors include his wife Vassie 'Christine' Salter, sister Carolyn Weitman, daughter Debbie Burnhart, stepson Henry 'Dale' Pilcher, grandchildren Natalie, Olivia, and Nicholas, and great grandchildren Marissa and Grace. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 25 at Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale. Viewing begins at 10 a.m.
