Obituary of Anderson White Phillip

Mr. Anderson "Andy" White Phillips Jr. Age 81 went home to be with his Lord on December 3, 2014 in Lake Alfred due to cancer. Mr. Phillips was born in Elizabeth City, N. C. to Anderson W. Phillips Sr. & Wilma Phillips and had lived in this area for over 35 years, coming from Silver Springs, Md. Mr. Phillips was a Korean War Veteran then went on to Southwestern College and T. C. U. where he earned his Masters Degree in Divinity. He served several years ministering at churches and then began a teaching career at Southeastern University in Lakeland. After his teaching career, he then took a position with the USPS where he worked until his retirement. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 35 years, Phyllis Phillips of Lake Alfred, 4 sons, Anderson "Bud" W. Phillips, III, Gregory Phillips, Kenneth A. Fountain and Ike D. Fountain, 1 daughter, Julia Kwiatkowski, a sister, Sharon Edsall, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 PM at Auburndale Life Church, 581 Berkley Road in Auburndale. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
