Obituary of Thelma Frances Johnson

THELMA F. JOHNSON, 85 Polk Co. School Board AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Thelma F. Johnson, age 85, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Winter Haven Hospital due to CHF. Mrs. Johnson was born September 27, 1929, in Avon Park, Florida, to Forrest Marion and Maggie Louise (Delaney) Mathis. She was an Auburndale resident for over 40 years. She was a retired Media Specialist for several Polk County Schools (Jesse Keen, Padgett, Alta Vista, Denison Middle & Auburndale High School). Thelma graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors in 1978. She enjoyed reading and going to the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bobby W. Johnson and son Robert William Johnson. Thelma is survived by: son: Mark D. (Donna) Johnson of Greenville, NC, 2 daughters: Marsha (Tom) Bonds of Auburndale, Beverly (Bobby) Giles of Winter Haven, sister: Pat Hopson of Lake Placid, 6 grandchildren: Michael, David, Keith, George, Stephanie & Sarah, 4 great grandchildren: Lindsay, Lexie, Violet & Parker. Inurnment will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
