Obituary of Maurice Don Cooley

Mr. Maurice Don Cooley, age 83, a resident of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away March 2, 2015, at his home. Mr. Cooley was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Homestead, FL, to Charles & Donnie (Whitehurst) Cooley. He was raised in Auburndale and graduated from AHS. He married Barbara Prescott on Aug. 12, 1951, in Valdosta, GA, and then later married Shirley Kersey on Feb. 16, 1967, in FL. Maurice was a surveyor with the State of Florida for 12 yrs, then became an engineer for the highway dept. in Manatee Co. for 20 yrs. and then retired as an Inspector Supervisor with the highway dept. He served on the board of County Commissioners. He moved from Bradenton to Warrensburg in 2012. Maurice enjoyed fishing, garage sales and the flea market. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 3 sisters & 1 grandchild. Maurice is survived by: 3 sons: Maurice Cooley, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL, Michael (Andrea) Cooley of Sacramento, CA, Maurice Douglas Cooley of Sedalia, MO, 5 daughters: Marcia (Ron) Bouchard of Lady Lake, FL, Janice Roberts of Dinwiddie, VA, Karen (Dan) Blavio of Bartow, FL, Laura Cooley of Cape Coral, FL, Veronica (Greg) McCluer of Warrensburg, MO, 11 grch: Nathan, Marcus, Philip, Brittany, Chance, Tiffnie, Charlene, Morgan, & Alandra, Alex & Taylor, 8 gt. gr. ch. Sierra, Nathan, Miles, Jaydon, Amanda, Almose, Jacob, & Kairi, several nieces & nephews.
