Obituary of Deborah Gene Amburgey

AMBURGEY, Deborah G. "Debbie", age 64, passed away in her home in Ridge Manor, FL on May 10, 2015 after a difficult battle with cancer. Debbie was born in Houston, Texas on July 10, 1950. She achieved her master's degree in education from the University of South Florida and her post graduate education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Debbie's labor of love as a Professor of Language Arts began August of 1981 at Pasco- Hernando Community College now called Pasco-Hernando State College. Debbie's dedication to teaching and mentoring her students continued for 34 years. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Mae and Eugene Amburgey. Debbie is survived by her devoted friend and companion, Mary Ellen Porter; Mary Ellen's daughter, Ashley Porter; sister, Amy Amburgey Blake; a nephew, Johathan; and niece, Emily.
