Obituary of James Otho Spurlock

Mr. James O. Spurlock, age 94 a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Consulate Health Care of Winter Haven. Mr. Spurlock was born June 4, 1920 in Cottonwood, AL. to Arthur and Ola (Stuckey) Spurlock. He was an Auburndale resident for over 75 years coming from AL. After 50 years of service with The United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America (Holding a life membership) he retired. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Auburndale, attended the First Baptist Church in Polk City, enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to Gospel sings of any kind anywhere. James was a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife - Shellie Spurlock; daughter - Delores Bush; granddaughter - Maria Wilkinson and sisters Jonnie Sellars & Inez Leonard. James is survived by his loving family; Daughter: Patricia Kelley- Hollmer (Ronald) of Polk City Brother: Arthur R. Spurlock of Winter Haven 4 Grandchildren: Kimberly Thompson (Tim) of Largo, Tonya Oliver (Terry) of Polk City, Nicole Nichols (David) of Mt. Dora, & Derek Krasnosky of Pensacola. 13 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren & Several nieces and nephews.
