Obituary of Dewey Wilbur Craver

Mr. Dewey Wilbur Craver, age 90, a resident of Winter Haven, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at his son's home. Mr. Craver was born September 21, 1924, in Davidson County, N.C., to Luther Lee and Bessie (Cashatt) Craver. He was a Winter Haven resident since 1931 coming from N.C. Dewey worked for Tampa Electric for 37 yrs. as a lineman/trouble shooter and owned his own business, Le Carousel Skating Rink in Winter Haven. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during WWII on the USS New York, USS Wyman and USS Black Douglas. He graduated from Warner Southern College with his ordained minister degree and was the Pastor of the non-denom-inational Faith Christian Temple Church in Inwood for 12 yrs. He is a published poet and member of the National Poet Society, a lifetime member of the Winter Haven VFW Post 4289 (past post commander) and a member of the Winter Haven American Legion Post 8. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nancy Tinsley (they married in 1943); 2 brothers Carlos & Kermit Craver and 3 sisters Velma Lameraux, Bonnie Gettle & Nancy Tapley. Dewey is survived by his loving family: son: Dewey Craig (Brenda) Craver of Winter Haven, 2 daughters: Carolyn DeLoach of Bradenton, Virginia (Mark) Bullock of Poinciana, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
