Obituary of Thetis Davis

Mrs. Thetis Wynnelle Davis, age 90, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at her home in Lake Alfred. Mrs. Davis was born in Andersonville, GA, to Lucius B. and Harriett A. Holloway. She has been a resident of Lake Alfred since 1964. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred. Mrs. Davis was devoted to her family and church. Surviving is daughter, Thetis Cavender of Lake Alfred, two sons, Jimmie Davis Jr. (Linda) of Lake Alfred and Milton L. "Lew" Davis (Mariesa) of Raleigh, N.C., brother Howard Holloway of Americus, GA, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie, of 70 years, son Lucius Addison Davis, daughter Barbara Denise Bishop, her parents, sisters Juanita Slappey and Ione "Tony" Graves and brothers Leon Holloway Sr. and Huie Holloway. Services will be held in Americus, GA, at a later date. Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale is in charge of arrangements.
