Obituary of Bessie Ann Bales

Mrs. Bessie Ann Bales, 98, a resident of Vancleave, MS formally from Auburndale passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Mrs. Bales was born March 28, 1917, in Charleston, WV to Doc and Lula Anderson Mays. She was an Auburndale resident since 1977, and a homemaker. Bessie worked in the aircraft factory during the 1940's war time, also worked in restaurants and alongside her best friend Betty Asher. Bessie was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed crafts, woodworking, gardening and all kinds of animals. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Alfred Igo; second husband, Jack Bales; daughter, Pearl Lee Hamilton; son, Donald Wesley Igo; 3 brothers, Charlie, Earnest, and Delmar; and 1 sister, Elsie. Bessie is survived by her loving family; 2 sons, Earl Ray Martha Igo of Lakeland and Joseph Vernon Igo of Vancleave, MS; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
