Obituary of James Duane Meek

Mr. James Duane Meek, age 81 a resident of Auburndale passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at his home. Mr. Meek was born one of four children on June 28, 1934 in Cadillac, MI. to Cyril and Leota (Stone) Meek. James moved to Auburndale in 1992 from Lebanon, IN. and was a retired salesman. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Auburndale and an officer for the church. James was a past president of the Indiana Shoe Travelers Assoc., National Director of National Shoe Travelers Assoc., and was a life member of the Clam Lake Masonic Lodge #331 in Cadillac, MI. James enjoyed annual trips to Michigan for deer hunting and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister - Elaine Hoffman. James is survived by his loving family; Wife of 43 Years: LaMoyne Meek of Auburndale, FL. 3 Sons: James H. Meek of Marathon, FL., Mark Meek of Rockford, MI., Paul Meek of Rockford, MI. Daughter: Martha Meek of Allegan, MI., 4 Stepsons: Mark, Dennis, Todd, Scott . 2 Sisters: Shirlee Wilson of Kalamazoo, MI., Dona Tyler of Holland, MI. and Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren.
