Obituary of Lewis Jay Strickland

Mr. Lewis Jay Strickland, age 39 a lifetime Polk County resident passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016. Jay was born August 12, 1976 in Winter Haven, Florida. He and his family lived in Auburndale where he attended Auburndale High School graduating in 1995. Jay was an electrician working with "Wired Up Electrical Service". He attended Legacy Community Church in Auburndale, enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling out, softball and loved being with his family & friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal & maternal grandparents and his father - Terry James Strickland. Jay is survived by; Wife of 22 Years: Holly Beth Shumate Strickland, 2 Daughters: Kaula Shumate, Karlie Strickland, 4 Brothers: Matt (Teresa) Thomas, Jason (Kim) Thomas, Terry James (Teri) Strickland, Jr., Micah (Kristina) Strickland, Mother: Rosetta Strickland, Father & other-in-Law: David & Sharon Shumate, Mother-in-Law:D ian Shumate. 1 Granddaughter: Kenna Shumate.
