Obituary of Betty Jo Runnels

Mrs. Betty Jo Runnels, age 89 a resident of Lake Alfred passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Brandywyne Health Care Center in Winter Haven. Mrs. Runnels was born August 7, 1927 in Birmingham, Alabama to Coye and Beryl (Benton) Bush. She was a Polk County resident since 1961 coming from Orlando. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Alfred, a retired bookkeeper and owned BJ Fashions in Lake Alfred. She enjoyed cooking and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Louis; brother - Leo and great granddaughter - Ava. Betty is survived by her loving & devoted family; 2 Sons: Gary (Marian) Runnels of Lakeland, Larry (Sheilan) Runnels of Lake Alfred, 2 Daughters: Karen Lecker of Tampa, Pamela (Art) Bodenheimer of Lake Alfred, 7 Grandchildren: Shane, Stacy, Amanda, Janna, Lindsey, Leslie & Laura, 7 Gt. Grandchildren: Taylor, Jakob, Brooke, Jackson, Ermias, Josie & Cayden, 1 Gt. Gt. Granddaughter: Ella.
