Obituary of Geneva C. Young

Mrs. Geneva C. Young, age 88 a resident of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Consulate Health Care of Winter Haven. Mrs. Young was born July 5, 1929 in Tifton, Georgia to Ruffis and Eva (Scott) Riner. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - William "Bill" Young; and 2 daughters - Theresa & Faith Husband & Wife Bill & Geneva Young married 64 years. Mr. William "Bill" M. Young, age 85 a resident of Auburndale passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Winter Haven Hospital. Mr. Young was born September 29, 1932 in Calais, Maine. He was a retired lab tech controller for Minute Maid Juice Manufacturing. Bill was a resident of Auburndale since 1972, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winter Haven, a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving in Vietnam, Korea, Philippines and Indochina. He was preceded in death by his father - John L. Young; mother - Rita Young; 2 daughters - Theresa & Faith; 3 brothers - Bob, John & Jimmy. Bill and Geneva are survived by their loving family; 3 Daughters: Valerie (Richard) Jones of Auburndale Patti Young of Auburndale Elizabeth (Alan) Elliott of Winter Haven Bill's Brother: Richard "Dick" Young of Maine Bill's Sister: Judy of Maine 2 Granddaughters: Victoria (Paul) Miller of Lakeland Kristian (Ikran) Gurgan of New York 7 Gt. Grandchildren: Vanessa, Viviana, Valynda, Helen, Miran, Mirgas & Solin In lieu of flowers the family would like donations in their names to any of the following; St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 OR John Hopkins All Children's Hospital, 501 Sixth Ave. South, St. Petersburg, FL. 33701 OR Ronald McDonald House, 35 Davis Blvd., Tampa, FL. 33606. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 27th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 532 Avenue M NW, Winter Haven, visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM with Military Honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
