Obituary of Lillian Dull

Mrs. Lillian Porter Dull, age 97, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her home with her daughter by her side.Mrs. Dull was born April 16, 1911 in Palestine, Texas to Charles and Lucinda (Nixon) Porter. Lillian was a lifetime Polk County resident for over 95 years. She worked and retired as a Line Supervisor for Continental Can Company. During World War II while her husband was in the war she sent troops boxes of goodies and she worked at Waverly Garage and Growers. Lillian graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1934; she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and attended the American Legion Tea Dances every Wednesday. She attended Saint Albans's Episcopal Church in Auburndale. She and her brother Charles loved to dance at the Eagle Lake Pavilion. She was of the Methodist Faith. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband - James Walter Dull; 2 sisters, Lou Davidsen and Mable Douglas; 2 brothers, John David Porter and Ulysses Porter.
