Obituary of Gerald Michels

Dr. Gerald Leonard Michels, age 85, retired Dentist and resident of Auburndale, Florida, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at his residence due to heart failure. Mr. Michels was born in Harvard, Illinois to Joe and Dorothy (Blake) Michels. He and his wife, Leona, lived in Florida during the Winter months since 1979, until they became full time residents in 1986. Gerald graduated from the University of Illinois Dental School in 1953, and served as both a Fighter Pilot and Dentist at the El Toro Marine Base in California for 3 years. Mr. Michels then retuned with his family to Aurora, Illinois, where he opened his dental practice in 1956. Gerald was a member of the First Church of God in Winter Haven.
