POLK CITY - Ms. Miriam F. Padilla, age 68 of Polk City passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in Polk City due to respiratory failure. Ms. Padilla was born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico and moved to this area 7 years ago from New York. She was a retired school teacher and had recently been a substitute teacher with Lena Vista and Polk City Elementary. Miriam attended First Baptist Church of Polk City, was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed taking care of her 2 grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Lisandra Toro of Bronx, N.Y. and Beverly Reveron of Auburndale, a son, Ezequiel Rodriguez of Mobile, Al., brothers Victor Padilla of Homosassa and Juan Padilla of Puerto Rico, sisters, Laura Colon of Puerto Rico, Nilda Padilla of Puerto Rico, Elba Gonzalez of Polk City and Rose Ramos of Walla Walla, Wa., 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 until 4 PM at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale.
