Obituary of John Jones

POLK CITY - Mr. John Paul "J.P." Jones, age 64 of Polk City passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 in Lakeland due to heart failure. A native of Winter Haven, J.P. was a Winter Haven Police officer, a Polk County sheriffs deputy with Polk County Correctional and retired as a Probation Officer. He was also a member of the Florida FOP and a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam era. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Katie Jones of Polk City, sons, Eric (Candace) Jones and Frank (Dina) Roderus, daughters, Dawn (Paul) Haiflich and Melisse (Brian) Eiseman, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. J.P. loved his family, friends and probationers and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the Life Church at Auburndale.
