Obituary of Junior Lawrence

AUBURNDALE - Mr. Junior T. Lawrence, age 86 a resident of Auburndale, FL. passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Tampa General Hospital due to heart failure. Mr. Lawrence was born January 1, 1924 in Gordon, AL. to John David and Bretty (Brown) Lawrence. He was a resident of Polk County since 1946 coming from Alabama. Junior retired from Coca Cola after 30 years of service as a power plant operator. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, gardening and fishing in earlier years. He was the past owner/operator of Auburndale Carport & Patio and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Auburndale. He loved his family and his church dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife Bernice; 2 sisters: Berness & Ossie; 3 brothers: J.D., Lentin & Clayton and special mother-in-law Verdie Kirkland. Junior is survived by his loving and devoted family: wife Mae Lawrence of Auburndale, FL, 2 sons: Gary (Marie) Lawrence of Dothan, AL, Reverend Gene (Cathy) Reynolds of Brandon, FL, 6 daughters: Donna Lawrence of Orlando, FL, Pat Branch of Auburndale, FL, Debbie (Tom) Ruse of Auburndale, FL, Delores (Gus) Bell of Cincinnati, OH, Amanda (Sam) Brown of Lakeland, FL, Marjorie (Terry) Bowden of Dothan, AL, 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, November 5, 2010 at the First Free Will Baptist Church, 114 East Derby Avenue, Auburndale. Interment will follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park.
