Obituary of Doyce Strickland

Mr. Doyce Tunney Strickland, age 83 a resident of Tampa passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at his son?s residence in Brandon due to Cancer. Mr. Strickland was born September 22, 1927 in Buchanan, Georgia to Barden and Maggie (Conn) Strickland. He was a resident of Tampa since 1966 coming from Kansas. He grew up in Cedartown, Georgia, was a Retired Weapons Engineer for the U.S. Air Force and also retired from the United States Post Office where he worked from (1968-1992). He was a United States Veteran serving in World War II and Korea. He was a member of the 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Egypt Temple. Shriners and the John C. Ayers Masonic Lodge in Lake Charles, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife ? Lois and 2 brothers. Mr. Strickland is survived by his loving and devoted family; Wife:Ruby Strickland of Midwest, OK. Son:Bart (Leverne) Strickland, III of Brandon, FL. 9 Grandchildren: Lee, John, Rusty, Karri, Wendy, Ken, April, Jessica & Josh 8 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Kersey Funeral Home. Interment will follow with full military honors at Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held before services from 9:00 till 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
