Obituary of Amanda Barber

AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Amanda Mariam Barber, age 93 a resident of Auburndale passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center due to Natural causes. Mrs. Barber was born December 26, 1916 in Lee, Florida to Jefferson Dial and Amanda Missouri (Hicks) Sullivan. She was a resident of Auburndale since 1935 coming from Lee, Florida and was a retired Beautician (1939-1983). Mrs. Barber was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Auburndale, worked in the church nursery, attended the Florida Conference for the United Methodist Church and received the Outstanding Woman Award. She loved to fish and could always be found at the jelly table for the church bazaar. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Gerald L. Barber and 8 brothers & sisters. Mrs. Barber is survived by her loving family; 2 Daughters: Jeraldine (Bill) Lindstrand of Madison, FL; Marian B. (Harry, Sr.) Greives of Winter Haven, FL; 2 Grandsons: Mark (Valerie) Lindstrand of Dade City, FL and Harry, Jr. (Cheryl) Greives of Winter Haven, FL; 2 Granddaughters; Lisa Bailey of Thomasville, GA and Nancy (Kelly) Morgan of Lehigh, FL; 5 Great Grandchildren: Nicholas, Alexis, Kathryn, Joshua & Christopher and 2 Step Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation's in Mrs. Barber's name to; Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale. Interment will follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park.
