Obituary of Vernell Lawn

Ms. Vernell ?Vicki? Deese Lawn, age 70 of Winter Haven passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in Winter Haven due to heart failure. Ms. Deese Lawn was born in Houston County, Al. and had moved to this area at an early age. She was an office manager and attended the 34th St. Church of God in Winter Haven and was crowned Miss. Auburndale of 1958. She was preceded in death by brothers, Theo and Rudolph Deese. Survivors include her sons, Keith Hutchens of Lakeland and Zenon Patton (Jenny) Oprysk of Lakeland, brothers, Fletcher Deese Jr. & James Deese of Lakeland, sisters, Hazel Gunnels of Lakeland, Sara Malphurs of Gainesville and Wynell Merritt of Polk City, grandson, Craig Raymond. Funeral services will take place Saturday at 11 am at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale with visitation starting at 10 am.
