Obituary of William Meredith

POLK CITY - Mr. William P. "Bill" Meredith, age 70, of Polk City, passed away Sunday (Jan. 2, 2011) in Lakeland due to liver failure. Mr. Meredith was born in Plant City and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a retired crane operator with Prestressed Concrete in Lakeland and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Mr. Meredith was preceded in death by his son William P. "Red" Meredith. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elsie Meredith of Polk City; sons David Wayne Meredith of Winter Haven and James Edward Meredith of Houston, TX; a sister Margaret I. Dennis of Fostoria, OH; 2 brothers, Tommy and Johnny Meredith, both of Polk City; and 4 grandchildren. A gathering of friends will take place Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale.
