We will miss Tony very much. He knew me from his
home town of Herminie II in Penna. I was a young child sent there during the depression to stay
with my grandparents the Drabiks. Tony went to
school with my Dad Fred. All of us reunited after many years when Tony and Ceil live in Hollywood Florid on Sheridan Street, my parents lived in Hollywood on Pierce Street and I lived
just a few blocks away in Dania, Florida. My
name was Gerry Slakta in those days. We had many parties at my house Christmas,Birthdays,
Easter with Tony, Ceil, Fred, Sue, Mary, George
Hector and Marie. Almost all of them are gone now. Ceil and Tony moved to Lakeland, my parents to Williston and me to Chiefland and yet we alway stayed in touch. We went to Lakeland at least 3 times a year for square dance conventions and always spent a day of it with Ceil and Tony. Tony showed us all the back alleys to Busch Gardens as he had a pass and knew how to get to all the shows and we played cards and he loved to do magic tricks.
He did his exercises up to this past June when we spent the night there and took him out for his birthday. We did see a change but his brain was sharp on many things. Well one day we will meet up with all of them and hope we can have one big party again. Love you Tony

Tony became my stepfather when he married my mom, Ceil, in 1970. They both enjoyed dancing, walking at Disney, exercising, and Tony was still doing daily sit-ups in his '80's. Even though my family and I didn't live nearby, we found chances to visit over the years. My children, Kenneth & Susan, stayed with them one summer in their younger years and got to know Tony's humor & friendliness more than I. My mom died in 2003; now Tony has gone to join her, but we will remember all the happy times we had with both of them.
