Obituary of Georgia Kirkland

AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Georgia Kirkland, age 91, of Auburndale, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Andalusia, AL, of natural causes. Mrs. Kirkland was born in Suntex, OR, and had lived in Auburndale since 1946, coming from Missouri. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Kirkland enjoyed homemaking, reading and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. P. Kirkland. Survivors include 2 sons, George (Joy) Kirkland of Danville, CA, and Joe (Teri) Kirkland of Cumming, GA; 3 daughters Mary (Jim) Walker of Pahrump, NV, Deborah (Steve) Godwin of Andalusia, AL, and Sandra (Rory) Hill of Land O' Lakes; a brother Garald Johnson of Trenton, MO; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m.
