Obituary of John Chesser

Mr. John Franklin Chesser, age 82, a resident of Auburndale, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at his residence due to heart failure. Mr. Chesser was born April 12, 1929 in Laverne, Alabama to Dock & Martha (Jeffcoat) Chesser. He was an Auburndale resident since 1951, coming from Alabama. John was an interior designer for retail and new construction. He is a veteran of the National Guard, member of Lena Vista Baptist Church in Auburndale, and past member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed wood crafting, gardening and could always see the beauty in a piece of wood. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. Mr. Chesser is survived by: wife, Gladys O. Chesser; daughter, Linda McMullen (Lewis) of Branford; son, David R. Chesser (Tamara) of Auburndale; 3 grandchildren, Leah Chesser of Jacksonville, Adam Zoble of Tampa, and Holly Neely (Donald) of Winter Haven; 2 great grandchildren, Jacob and Madison. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at the Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale. Interment will follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday Oct. 26, 2011 from 9:00-10:00 AM at the funeral home.
