Obituary of Herb Cameron

AUBURNDALE - Mr. Daniel H. "Herb" Cameron, age 84, of Auburndale, passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 in Auburndale due to lung cancer. He was born in Dothan, AL, on April 26, 1927, to Daniel A. and Mabel Campbell Cameron. Mr. Cameron came to Auburndale with his family in 1933. He worked for Coca-Cola at the Auburndale plant as a foreman in shipping and receiving for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Cameron was of the Baptist faith. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Eldoye C. King and Merline C. Addison, and a brother Roy Cameron. Surviving are his sister Annie B. "Ann" Walker and brother in law Grady L. Walker, nephew Billy Addison, nieces, Carla Spiker and Tina Cameron, great nephew Brent Addison, great nieces, Jill Burr and Starla Music, 2 stepchildren Jack and Shelly Parker, and 1 step granddaughter Meagan Parker. Mr. Cameron is also survived by the love of his life, his loving and devoted wife Judy Cameron. He was an avid dove hunter in his younger years and was a proud member of the Auburndale Card Club, and enjoyed playing poker but his greatest pleasure was traveling with Judy. Funeral services for Mr. Cameron will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
