Obituary of Melba Monday

AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Melba D. Monday, age 75 a resident of Auburndale passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at her son's home in Winter Haven due to COPD. Mrs. Monday was born November 11, 1936 in Houston County, Alabama to Jessie David and Eva (Franklin) Mills. She was a resident of Auburndale since the 1950s coming from Alabama. Melba was a homemaker, enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard Monday; granddaughter Christie Clark and great granddaughter Taylor Monday. Melba is survived by her loving family: 3 sons: Michael (Helen) McFar-land of Lakeland, Kenneth (Teresa) Monday of Winter Haven, Kevin (Cindy) Monday of Auburndale, daughter: Viv-ian (Earnest) Phillips of Lakeland, brother: David (Candace) Mills, Sr. of Blue Hill, Maine, 10 grandchildren: Erin (Scott) Jones of Mulberry, Christopher Monday of Auburndale, Jeffrey Mon-day of Auburndale, Angela (Lee) Westmoreland of TN, Dalton Monday of Winter Haven, Jennifer Monday of Lakeland, Gregory Monday of Auburndale, Brooke Monday of Auburndale, Mandy Clark of Eloise, Charlene Parker of Lakeland, 16 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request's those so desiring to make donation's in Mrs. Monday's name to: Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Kersey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held (before services) Saturday from 10:00 till 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
