Obituary of James Taylor

AUBURNDALE - Mr. James "Jim" Edison Taylor, age 89 a lifetime resident of Polk County passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Good Shepherd Hospice Residential Center in Auburndale due to heart failure. Mr. Taylor was born December 19, 1922 in Winter Haven, Florida to Tillman and Rachel (Dupree) Taylor. He was a retired Shipping Supervisor for Union Camp Corrugated Boxes and a member of the First Baptist Church in Auburndale. Jim was a United States Army/Air Force veteran serving in WW II with the 531st bomb squadron 380th bomb group. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, camping and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marian Josey Taylor and sister Dorothy Taylor Jordan. Jim is survived by his loving & devoted family: son Richard "Dick" A. (Frances) Brown of Auburndale; grandson Rich-ard "Rick" A. (Bryna) Brown, Jr. of Auburndale; granddaughter: Jennifer B. Dickson of Auburndale; 3 great grandchildren: Howie, Josey & Frances; sister Evelyn Haynes of Valrico; nephew James (Beverly) Tompkins of Plant City; several other nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers donation's in Mr. Taylor's name can be made to: Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Kersey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park with Military Honors. Visitation will be held before services from 9:00 till 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
