Obituary of Maxine Board

AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Maxine Margaret Board, age 86 passed away peacefully & courageously on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Residential Center in Auburndale due to renal failure. Mrs. Board was born April 10, 1925 in Akron, Ohio to Shirley and Margaret (Bridge) White. She lived in Akron until 1948 when she married Dick Board and they moved to Adaza, Iowa. They loved the farm life but, after a trip to Florida in 1957 they returned every winter to Auburndale. Then in 1962 they became co-owners of what was known for 18 years as Board's Mobile Home Park on Lake Jessie. She was a homemaker, and a charter member of the Winter Haven Christian Church where she also taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dick N. Board in 1987; 3 brothers & 2 sisters. Maxine is survived by her loving family: 2 daughters: Deborah (David) Ambrose of Winter Haven, Dixine (Jamie) Holm of Lakeland, 2 grandchildren: David (Wendy) Ambrose, II of Auburndale, Kristie (James) Monaco of Auburndale, 6 great grandchildren: Kristen, Tiffany, Keith, Damon, Jillian & Isabella. In lieu of flowers the family request's donation's in Mrs. Board's name to: Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Kersey Funeral Home. A private interment will be held. Visitation will be held Friday, December 30, 2011 from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements By: Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale.
