Obituary of Mary Garrison

AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Mary B. Garrison, age 91 a resident of Auburndale passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Lakeland Regional due to heart failure. Mrs. Garrison was born April 16, 1920 in Carmi, Illinois to Arthur and Ella Mae (Finley) Brashier. She and her husband were residents of Auburndale since 1972 coming from Illinois. She was a homemaker, member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Carmi, lifetime member of Eastern Star and member of the Auburndale Women's Club. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Auburndale. She also served on several church committee's, crafty ladies, member of the United Methodist Women where she was past president and was a delegate with the church conference. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe A. Garrison and 4 brothers. Mary is survived by her loving family: 3 sons: Joe A. (Diane) Garrison of Oceanside, CA, Richard A. (Vicky) Garrison of Lake Alfred, FL, David R. Garrison of Marietta, GA: 2 daughters: Alice (Paul) Eadie of Virginia Beach, VA, Irene (John) Ball of Auburndale, FL, 7 grandchildren: Mary Nell, Diana, Joe D., Kristen, Jennifer, Heather & John, 10 great grandchildren: Adam, Katrina, Paige, Grant, Rachel, Jayce, Derek, Audreena, Ben & Lark, 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Alice Brashier of Carmi, IL, Grace Brashier of Swansea, IL. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation's in Mrs. Garrison's name to: First United Methodist Church (Pastor's Discretionary Fund), 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale, FL. 33823. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale. An inurnment will be held at a later date in Illinois.
