Obituary of O. Nelson

Mr. O. C. Nelson, 81 of Auburndale passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 due to cancer. Mr. Nelson was born in Samson, Al. and had lived in this area over 60 years. He was a retired maintenance mechanic with Continental Can. Mr. Nelson was a member of the Auburndale Masonic Lodge and enjoyed farming and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Nelson, sons Ernest and Robert Nelson and 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his daughters, Sheila Thornton of Auburndale and Shelley Light of Woodbine, Ga., a brother, Bill Nelson of Alabama, a sister, Cubie Nell McKnight of Winter Haven, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 10 AM at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale with visitation on Monday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
