Obituary of Clara Brewer Forsythe

Clara Mae Brewer Forsythe, 100, of Auburndale, Florida, died February 28, 2012 of natural causes. Born June 2, 1911 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Sidney Brewer and Betty A. Brewer, she moved with her family to Auburndale in 1919. She graduated from Auburndale High School in 1929 and was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Herbert, owned and operated Herbert's Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Auburndale until his death in 1968. She later worked for and retired from Polk County Schools. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed flowers, singing and playing the piano. All who knew her admired her joyous spirit and zest for life. Clara Mae spent the last five years of her life in the wonderful care of the Masonic Home of Florida in St. Petersburg. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star.
