Obituary of Wilbur McLeod

AUBURNDALE - Auburndale Chief of Police W. Nolan McLeod, age 58 of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in Auburndale due to cancer. Chief McLeod was born in Live Oak, Florida and had lived in Auburndale since 2007 when he became chief of police. He was a member of the Church at the Mall in Lakeland serving as a Deacon, as a member of the Personnel Committee, a Choir member and a Connect Class Leader. Chief McLeod began his career in 1981 serving as a police officer in Bartow. From there he went on to serve as Chief of Police in Live Oak, Florida from 1996 until 2007. He also served as past President of the Florida Police Chiefs Association. He enjoyed playing banjo and guitar, bluegrass music, Gator football, and he was a tri-athlete and enjoyed running marathons.
