Obituary of Eulice Gillis

Mr. Eulice "Chris" Christopher Gillis, age 79, a resident of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Residential Center in Auburndale due to heart failure. Mr. Gillis was born November 29, 1932 in Statesboro, Georgia to Eulie E. and Hattie (Brown) Gillis. He was a Polk County resident since 1969. Chris was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant responsible for managing aircraft simulators. After retirement he started a second career as an insurance agent for Fike & Sale Agencies of Lakeland. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Auburndale. Chris was a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemansonry, member of Southland Masonic Lodge #256, and a member of the Winter Haven American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, singing, woodworking and loved his family.
